Thank you to Bobby Jess

A very big thank you and congratulations to our supporter Bobby Jess in completing his Land’s End to John O’Groats virtual fitness challenge.

Finish Line

Bobby, Provincial Grand Master of Dumfriesshire and member of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, began his fundraising initiative on 13 February.  He crossed the finish line on 1 June, covering the 1,084 miles by running and walking regularly in his local area.  As he progressed virtually from the south to the north of the UK his route was tracked by the LEJOG virtual fitness challenge app.

Said Bobby “1084 miles in 107 days! If anyone had suggested back in February that I could achieve that, I’d have laughed at you!…Many thanks to everyone who has donated, you’ve all been so generous…”

Bobby has raised over £3,500 including Gift Aid – another magnificent achievement!

We’re delighted that he also enlisted the support of his bowling club last weekend.  Marchmount Bowling Club in Dumfries, organised an internal pairs competition and donated £200 in proceeds towards this total.Marchmount BC

Thank you to Bobby, and to everyone who has supported him.  If you’d like to read more about his challenge, then head to his fundraising page here.
