Great North Run 2021
Date: 12th Sep 2021
Prostate Scotland has a limited number of free places which we are delighted to offer to our fundraisers and supporters to participate in the world’s biggest Half Marathon – the Great North Run.
2021 is a special year for this event when the Great North Run celebrates its 40th anniversary, with some new activities and experiences for runners, spectators and visitors planned.
In this hugely popular event, you will join 57,000 people running from Newcastle to South Shields. The route takes you through Newcastle’s historic city centre towards the famous Quayside, where you’ll catch a glimpse of the tilting Millenium Bridge, Baltic Centre and Sage Concert Hall before running over the iconic Tyne Bridge with thousands of other competitors into the most famous shot of the TV coverage. Then you will head into Gateshead and to South Shields at the top of Prince Edward Road where the North Sea comes into view, and you are within touching distance of completing your own Great North Run.
As a supporter undertaking a sporting activity in aid of Prostate Scotland you will receive:
- Pre-event information about how to get sponsorship and fundraise and how to make it easy, safe and fun!
- Specially designed Prostate Scotland T shirt, running shirt or vest
- A Prostate Scotland water bottle which we automatically send out to registered runners
- Post-race a Prostate Scotland Certificate of Appreciation
More information on the event is available from the Great North Run
Please note that we can offer only a free place to run in aid of Prostate Scotland, and this does not include overnight accommodation nor transport to the event, which the participant would need to fund themselves. Please note our free places are for the 13.1 mile event only.
