Thank you to our Gentle Giant Mighty Hikers
Congratulations and thank you to our Gentle Giant Mighty Hikers who took on the Big Bobby Hike by walking the Rob Roy Way in memory of their friend Bobby Hood and in aid of our work.
The 30 strong team from Forth in Lanarkshire were waved off from home on Friday 1st October to follow in the footsteps of Rob Roy. They walked the 22 miles from Drymen near Loch Lomond to Callander in the Trossachs. The team set off on staggered starts over the weekend, and all completed the walk by Sunday.
We’re thrilled to have been nominated to receive their support this year. Through their efforts, we’ve received significant support and engagement from their community, enabling us to provide more information and to reach out to many more people about the importance of prostate awareness. The team have more than doubled their fundraising target, and raised over £13,000 on their fundraising page.
A race night at Lanark Thistle Bowling Club on Friday 6 November has also been organised to raise further funds.
We’d like to thank the Gentle Giant Mighty Hikers, the community of Forth, and all those who have supported them. We’d like to extend our thanks to Mackenzie Transport Forth, Thistle Haulage Ltd, Carluke & Lanark’s Tesco Community Champions, Forth’s Co-op Community Champions and the Carluke and Lanark Gazette for their generous support too.
