Fundraising family train for Ben Nevis climb in aid of Prostate Scotland

We’d like to say thank you to Ross McGorm and family for setting themselves the fundraising challenge of climbing Ben Nevis in aid of Prostate Scotland.

Ross and his daughter Erin first practised by climbing Ben Lomond at the end of July, and Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers just over a week later.  They aim to complete their climb of Ben Nevis – a steep ascent of 1,345 metres and the highest mountain in the UK – later this month.

The rest of the family have also got involved, with sons Oliver and Calvin aiming to run 9 miles, (the equivalent distance up and down Nevis), and partner Gemma and daughter Clover to walk 9 miles as well.

Ross is absolutely delighted to have raised over four times his original target – £1,252.50 including Gift Aid – in aid of our work.

Prostate Scotland is thrilled to receive the support of Ross and his family, and thank you to everyone who has supported them.  You can read more about their fundraising challenge here.

Said Ross ” Like most people I’ve always given to charity whether it’s a donation, sponsoring someone, sharing or liking page, it’s not really until someone close to you gets affected by something that it really hits home, how much these charities, support groups etc help.”

Virtual fundraising ideas

Ross and Erin have come up with a great fundraising idea to involve all their family.  If their efforts have got you thinking about what you could do to support Prostate Scotland, please head to these pages for more ideas:

There are other easy ways to support Prostate Scotland too, if you prefer not to undertake an activity.
