Congratulations to our supporter Bill Whibley

We’d like to say congratulations and a big thank you to our supporter Bill Whibley on completing his Edinburgh Marathon Festival Virtual Challenge.  Bill opted to complete the full marathon distance and fundraised the superb sum of  £740!

Said Bill “during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, many of us have been working from home and/or restricting our movements therefore I decided to set myself a healthy challenge that not only would keep me active but would also hopefully benefit others.”

Bill decided to run the marathon distance by breaking it up over a few weeks and doing a series of 5K runs to make up the distance.  “I did enjoy the challenge and it helped me to keep my run routine going”  Bill said.

We’re delighted that Bill achieved his goal and very pleased to receive his support.  He also surpassed his fundraising target of £500 to raise £740 including Gift Aid.

Congratulations and thank you to Bill, and thank you to all his friends and family who supported him in his achievement.

Virtual running challenges

A virtual running challenge is a great way to keep your running routine going if you have taken up running during lockdown or if you are a keen runner and missed your usual races this year.
