Success of our Living Well with Prostate Cancer course

Our Living Well with Prostate Cancer course has been running for the past year and the feedback from men who have taken part has been fantastic.   The 7-week course is designed for people who are having treatment for prostate cancer, or for those finished treatment.  It looks at the side effects of treatment and how to minimise them, the practicalities of having prostate cancer, and what individuals can do to live well.

The course runs in partnership with Maggie’s Edinburgh and Maggie’s Highlands, benefiting from their knowledgeable facilitators and expert guest speakers.  The next courses start in October and November and are running on Zoom.  The course is part of Prostate Scotland’s COMPASS Project which helps men navigate prostate cancer.

100% of men who have taken part on the course would recommend it to others.

Here are a few of their comments on the course:

“It is very easy to feel alone whilst living with cancer so broadening horizons and speaking with different people is essential. The involvement of health care professionals who have time to talk to us is so important for our well-being.”

“First rate course well led with interesting speakers and always humbling to be with men in similar situations”

“I feel better due to the fact that there are others who are like me, and it makes me feel that I’m not alone”
