Get into the swing of fundraising with a golf event
With the British Open at the weekend, we got thinking about our fantastic supporters’ golf events in aid of Prostate Scotland. In the last month alone, we supported four golf fundraisers with no two being the same. If you’re an avid golfer, a golf event is a great way to incorporate your hobby and community to raise money. Take a look at these examples of fundraisers this summer who did their own spin on a golf fundraiser.
Summer 2026 golf events in aid of Prostate Scotland
Drumpellier Golf Club- Senior Golf Open

Long term Prostate Scotland supporter, Alec Palmer is a member at Drumpellier Golf Club. The club held their annual Senior’s Open Day in June and chose to raise money for Prostate Scotland. They also used our resources to raise awareness around prostate cancer and disease. The club raised a fantastic £800 for Prostate Scotland from this day. Thank you to Alec and Drumpellier Golf Club for your continued support in our work.
Grahame Connor- 24hr Golf Challenge

Grahame Connor completed his 24hr golf challenge on the 20th and 21st June. He spent 24hrs playing around the course at Peebles Golf Club playing through the night and finishing at 4pm on the following day. Luckily the weather was on his side and by the time he had completed the challenge, he had walked 48.5 kilometres.! Our thanks goes out to Grahame who raised over £3,500, a fantastic amount!
Dougie and Iain- 100 holes in a day

Dougie and Iain thought of the idea of a 100 holes in a day challenge last year. The multi event fundraiser named the ‘Big Match’ included two golf days at their respective clubs and a silent online auction before the big finale of 100 holes in a day on the 19th June. The fundraising was made simple with the pair using one Just Giving page across all events meaning that they could keep their fundraising totals from each event as one. Dougie even got some media attention ahead of their final event after sinking two holes in one, the odds of that being 67 million to 1, and promoted his fundraising in the press. Read here.
On 19th June, they played 100 holes at North Berwick golf club starting in the wee hours of the morning at 4am and finished at 11pm just in time to put their feet up for the Scotland vs Morocco match. Read more about their North Berwick golf day and Boat of Garten golf day, the first two events of the series.
Through their three golf events and their online auction, the two fundraised an incredible £28k for Prostate Scotland with final tallies still being taken.
Gordon Leighton- Texas scramble community golf day
On 5th July, Gordon Leighton along with friends in Aberfeldy hosted an open golf community event. The tournament used the Texas Scramble format and saw 19 teams take part. It wasn’t just golf on offer in Aberfeldy that day, food and drink was provided by the golf club with a donation from each meal deal purchased made to Prostate Scotland and the night was rounded off with a dance.
