Fantastic Fundraising Forth community raise fabulous £21,000

Congratulations and a big thank you to our fundraisers from the village of Forth in Lanarkshire, who celebrated their phenomenal achievement of raising £21,004.15 in aid of our work.

Their fundraising began in March last year, led by Bobby McGinty.

The 30 strong team, Forth Gentle Giant Mighty Hikers, took on the Big Bobby Hike in memory of their friend Bobby Hood.  They walked the 22 mile Rob Roy Way from Drymen near Loch Lomond to Callander in the Trossachs last October.

A race night at Lanark Thistle Bowling Club in November raised further funds.  Forth British Legion also donated proceeds from their dance night in the same month.

A special raffle for a signed and framed Rangers FC shirt from the 20/21 title winning team and manager rounded off the community’s fundraising efforts in 2022.Gentle Giant Mighty Hikers small group

We’re thrilled to have been nominated as their beneficiary charity.  Through their efforts, we’ve received significant support and engagement from their community, enabling us to provide more information and to reach out to many more people about the importance of prostate awareness.

We’d like to thank Bobby McGinty, the Gentle Giant Mighty Hikers, the Forth community, and all those who have supported them.  We also extend our thanks to Mackenzie Transport Forth, Thistle Haulage Ltd, Carluke & Lanark’s Tesco Community Champions, Forth’s Co-op Community Champions and the Carluke and Lanark Gazette for their generous support too.
