Gift Aid

  • If you would like you to Gift Aid your donation by standing order or cheque please download and complete the Gift Aid Declaration Form and return it to Prostate Scotland.

What is Gift Aid?

Did you know that the taxman can add an extra 25% onto a donation? If the donor is a UK resident and taxpayer and will be paying at least as much tax as they are likely to reclaim from their donation, Prostate Scotland can claim Gift Aid from HMRC. All the donor needs to do is to confirm that they are a taxpayer and agree that they wish their donation to be eligible for Gift Aid and contribute their name and home address and tick to acknowledge that they agree to Gift Aid applying to their donation.

This is our sponsorship form where Gift Aid can be claimed: Sponsorship and Gift Aid Declaration Form Alternatively, you may prefer to set up a JustGiving page for your fundraising activity – Gift Aid is claimed easily where applicable.

Fund Matching

It’s worth checking with your employer to see if there is a fund matching scheme for charities in your workplace. We’ve previously received fund matching payments from large organisations such as Enterprise RAC UK, Lloyds TSB, Morrison’s Supermarkets and Santander. Your employer may need some details from our Supporter Care team, please contact us here.

CAF (Charities Aid Foundation)

This is a registered UK Charity cafonline.org which works with companies, regular donors and charities, amongst other organisations, to enable them to give more. If you, or one of your supporters wish to make a donation from their CAF account, our account number is 51000494549 and we can attribute it to your fundraising total.

Collection Buckets or Cans

If you’ve used collection buckets or cans, please unseal your buckets or cans and bank the cash collected – don’t send us cash in the post.  Our preference for receiving donations securely is via our website donation page. Our website payment system is called Stripe. Your receipt will be automatically generated from Stripe.

Our Charity Partners and Supporters

We are have worked with many generous partners and supporters since our inception, and we believe that building these relationships is vital to the ongoing success of Prostate Scotland, in both spreading awareness of prostate disease and in fundraising to support our work.  We are extremely grateful for this support, which makes a significant difference to our work and we should like to express our thanks and gratitude.

Recently we have worked in close partnership with the Grand Lodge of Scotland, whose kind support has assisted us in the development of this website, for which are very grateful. To see more about this special partnership with the freemasons and the Grand Lodge of Scotland please see our page spotlighting this charity partnership.

Our supporter record and communications policy

People are often wary of being inundated with requests to fundraise or give more once they have donated or fundraised in aid of a charity. Prostate Scotland’s policy is to only contact those who have given us express permission to do so. We retain an active record on our database of those people who have given permission for future contact. We archive the records of those people who wish no further contact from us. This helps prevent future contact from us but still allows Prostate Scotland to identify previous supporters if they get back in touch. We shall delete all records of a supporter on request.
