Volunteers’ Week 2026
This week marks Volunteers’ Week 2026. Throughout the week, we’ll be posting on our social media thanking the many volunteers that help us at Prostate Scotland achieve the work we do.
To kick start the week, hear from our new Volunteer Coordinator, Dáire.

Hey! My name is Dáire and I am the new Volunteer Coordinator for Prostate Scotland. For Volunteers’ Week, I would love to highlight the important role that volunteers play in helping Prostate Scotland do our important work!
Prostate Scotland is a charity run by a small team of 12 staff members, working a combination of full-time and part-time hours out of an office based in Edinburgh. In spite of this, we have a wide-reaching mission to help all people in Scotland become informed about Prostate Disease, and the risk factors that can be cause for concern. This nationwide remit is far beyond what our staff members could do on their own, and as such, our dedicated team of volunteers are essential in ensuring we adequately reach as many people as possible and do so in all corners of the country. Our volunteers help us deliver and distribute, awareness talks, printed material, and other awareness raising events across the country. Our volunteers also help us behind the scenes, assisting us in administration and using their professional credentials to review our materials to ensure they’re up to date and accurate.
Without our volunteers, Prostate Scotland would never be able to carry out our mission to the extent that we do, and for that, we would like to say a big thank you to all of our volunteers for all the work they do. In honour of Volunteers’ Week, we extend our gratitude to the Grand Lodge of Scotland, and all of the Prostate Champions that assist us through them, as well as all our internal volunteers.
On behalf of Prostate Scotland and the whole team, thank you to everyone who volunteers their time for causes they believe in, be it Prostate Scotland or beyond!
