Roddy’s Fundraising Book Launch
Roddy Matthews, talented professional musician and Prostate Scotland supporter, launches his fundraising book ‘Bow to the Fiddle‘ this month!
Celebrating and promoting the release of his book at music nights last week, Roddy describes ‘Bow to the Fiddle‘ as ‘the life, times and travels of a Borderland fiddle player.’ Said Roddy ”The book is about my life playing for Scottish/dance and ceilidh bands for 50 years including meeting many of the famous musicians.”
About the Book
”Roddy’s love of a good melody has always been a recurring theme within his life. This absorbing memoir will draw you into the world of traditional fiddle playing in Northumberland and Scotland. Roddy has played the fiddle for many years and this memoir tells the story of his introduction to the fiddle, through his childhood to the present day. He hopes you will find it interesting, moving, and affecting.”
Additionally, you can catch his interview promoting his book and music on a recent episode of ‘Take the Floor’ with presenter Gary Innes. Find it on BBC Radio Scotland on the BBC Sounds app.
