Over the Hills Cycle Team Challenge to fundraise in aid of Prostate Scotland

Setting off today from Settle Cricket Club in Yorkshire to Galashiels in the Borders, and fundraising in aid of  Prostate Scotland is the ‘Over the Hills’ Cycle Team: three members of Gala Cricket Club – Stevie Halls, Keith Irvine and Ron Murray joined by friends Alan Brown, Doug Welsh and Kevin Mania.  Their route will take them over the Yorkshire Dales, the Pennines, around Kielder Forest Park, through the Liddesdale Valley and back into the Scottish Borders to arrive at Gala Cricket Club on Sunday 23 July.  This will be in time for the annual cricket game between the two cricket clubs at Meigle Park, which remembers Dunc Paterson of Gala and Malcolm Davidson of Settle, who were friends and well known talented sportsmen.

We’d like to wish the team good luck for the 185 mile ride over hill and dale and thank all those participating and their supporters – to date a magnificent amount of over £5,000 has been raised.
