52 Peaks in 52 Weeks – Andy Murray’s Challenge in aid of Prostate Scotland

This weekend our stalwart supporter and intrepid adventurer Andy Murray will be a quarter of the way through his 52 Peaks in 52 Weeks Challenge by scaling Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh and An Stuc – his 13th, 14th and 15th peaks, in aid of Prostate Scotland.  Andy trained for several months, and began his challenge at the beginning of April, garnering support from friends who have accompanied him on his various expeditions.  He has braved more than just inclement Scottish weather, having turned back from impassable ice and a dangerous overhanging mass of snow, and has now bagged twelve Munro’s including “The Big Yin – Ben Nevis – the UK’s largest mountain and we’re chuffed to bits.”

Andy has done a terrific job of raising awareness and fundraising in aid of our cause, and we’re very grateful for his commitment. He said “now it’s my turn to lend my hand in the fight against this awful disease and for anyone who knows me, I tend not to do things in half measures.”

We’re enjoying his updates at www.facebook.com/52peaks52weeks and on his fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andy-murray52  Many thanks to Andy for his initiative in fundraising and awareness raising.
