The South Queensferry Raft Race is a fun and exciting day out just outside of Edinburgh. The light-hearted competition makes this event the ideal opportunity for workplace teams or families wanting to strengthen their bonds on the boards, and help us to continue with our invaluable work to help those affected by prostate issues.
The South Queensferry Rotary Club has been supporting communities for almost 50 years. In this time, they’ve raised over £1million through thrilling events including abseils, boat races, and more! They’re back this year with the all-new Raft Race. The Race is a day-long paddleboarding competition made up of 25 teams in a knockout style tournament.

The Nitty Gritty…
The Team:
One ticket per team. Teams consist of 6-8 rafters, with one designated Team Captain. The Team Captain is responsible for purchasing team tickets, recruiting rafters, and ensuring all rafters complete the registration form. After registration, each rafter will receive an email from the South Queensferry Rotary Club. This email invites them to Complete Your Entry where they can fill out their registration form – it must be completed before the Race.
Please Note: Sadly, we cannot accept rafters under the age of 18.
The Deposit:
You must pay a deposit of £240 (£30/40 per person) to register your place on the SQ Raft Race website. Your team will not be registered until this is paid. Once you have paid your deposit, you will be redirected to JustGiving to set up a fundraising page.
The Fundraising:
South Queensferry Rotary Club asks you to pledge to fundraise: £1000 per team (£125/167 per person). This covers the cost of your place and merchandise for SQRC, along with a donation to us to help us continue our crucial work.
The Pool:
If you want to take part, but do not have a team, you can register for the Pool. After this, SQRC will allocate you a place. If you do not have a full team at registration, you can fill out spots later or apply for rafters from the Pool. For more information, head over to the SQ Raft Race FAQs.
The Course:
The course takes place around the Port Edgar Marina under the shadow of the iconic Forth Bridges. Please be aware details of the course may change due to operational conditions on the day.
