Based in central Edinburgh, we provide essential information and guidance to men and their families affected by the most common cancer in men.

We currently have openings for a Finance Co-ordinator and a Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Finance Co-ordinator

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to support our financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely financial processes. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance our financial administration strategies and contribute to the improvement of our financial processes.

This exciting role will involve:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including processing income, donations, and purchase invoices, ensuring correct entry and coding within our accounting system (Sage/Xero)
  • Maintain accurate ledgers and perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, such as the Profit and Loss statement and Balance Sheet, to the CEO and Finance Committee
  • Assist the CEO with budget planning, monitoring, and financial forecasting

Your strong organisational and analytical skills will be essential in supporting Prostate Scotland’s financial activities, and ensuring accurate and efficient financial administration. You will work closely with the team to process and track financial transactions, prepare financial reports, and support budgeting efforts to help drive the organisation’s growth and impact.   • Salary: £32,000 per annum (14 Hours pro rata)
  • Contract Term: One-year fixed term contract
  • Hours of Employment: 14 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Flexible, within core office hours of 9.30 to 5.30pm
  • Location: Central Edinburgh with the flexibility of a hybrid working pattern

Volunteer Coordinator

We also have an opening for a dedicated and proactive Volunteer Coordinator to join our passionate team. We’re a dynamic charity actively engaged in informing, supporting, and advancing prostate cancer and disease initiatives throughout Scotland. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in nurturing our volunteer community.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to shape and enhance our volunteer programme, building upon our current engagement strategies.

This exciting role will involve:

  • Manage volunteer recruitment, including developing recruitment strategies and handling enquiries
  • Facilitate orientation and onboarding processes for new volunteers, ensuring compliance with policies
  • Support and engage volunteers in organisational activities, fostering a positive volunteer experience
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and ongoing support to volunteers in their roles
  • Develop and deliver training programmes for volunteers, including virtual sessions as necessary
  • Implement effective recognition strategies to acknowledge volunteer contributions
  • Maintain accurate records, manage budgets, and prepare reports on volunteer activities
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure volunteer and organisational needs are met effectively

Your strong interpersonal skills will be invaluable in collaborating with local fundraisers and supporters to cultivate initiatives for Prostate Scotland within communities and events across Scotland. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to attend and represent Prostate Scotland at local fundraising events and engage with external supporters.
