Prostate services in Edinburgh and the Lothians are based at The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. There is a range of treatments including 2 surgeons performing endoscopic radical prostatectomy, radical external beam radio therapy and brachytherapy, and 1 surgeon performing open radical prostatectomy. There is a team of urologists, specialist nurses and oncologists, radiologists providing treatment, and supporting people with prostate issues. There is a specialist male cancer centre, and also a link with services in the Borders as part of a joint agreement.
There is a specialist research project on prostate cancer underway at the HEBA centre at the Western General Hospital. NHS Lothian via the Western General Hospital provide a range of helpful patient leaflets on prostate issues including on the PSA test, biopsies and on laparoscopic keyhole surgery (jointly with Prostate Scotland).

There are also some urology services provided at St John's Hospital in Livingston, including a local prostate biopsy service, and a treatment service for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia utilising a method called Photoselective Vaporisation of the Prostate known commonly as 'Greenlight' laser treatment.
